CARLETON UNIVERSITY REPORT
Carleton University Report At Doyle Salewski we observed that the majority of people who are having financial problems view their situation as a catastrophe, and appear to be suffering from serious trauma, which we entitled "Debt Stress". We suspected that Debt Stress was having a significant negative emotional, psychological, and sociological effect on individuals, families, and society. To verify the existence of Debt Stress, we partnered with Carleton University to conduct the report "The Consequences of Financial Stress for Individuals, Families, and Society". The report confirmed our suspicions by revealing that Debt Stress did exist, and was, in fact, the cause of a wide variety of negative effects such as a high incidence of mental and physical health problems, adverse effects on marital relationships, a negative effect on how parents parent, plus children of financially stressed parents are more prone to depression, loneliness, and are more emotionally sensitive. It has also become obvious that financial stress can drive people to suicide.
